THE CURRICULUM OF THE LEADERSHIP TRAINING IS BASED ON THE LIFE-CYCLE OF A LEADER



PERSONAL LEADERSHIP
is the ability to lead and manage one’s life irrespective of whatever prevailing circumstances. Leadership responsibility begins with self. Unless one can lead and manage oneself, to be leader of one’s own life, one cannot possibly effectively lead others.

Personal leadership seeks to rehabilitate our inner being, re-order our private life, correcting the weakness of our character traits (bahaviour, attitude and habits), exploring potential through personal discovery, and strengthening the personal skills, for example managing our priorities, time and resources.

What can we learn from personal leadership ?

  1. Personality profile analysis (test).
  2. Recognizing and dealing with the swirling emotion of our lives (may require personal ministry after the session).
  3. Personality and character development, e.g. spirit controlled temperament, attitudes and behavior.
  4. Re-ordering of the leaders’ private life e.g. dealing with personal hang-ups, self-acceptance etc.
  5. Integrating Personality traits and leadership styles for effective leadership.
  6. Any other relevant topics.

 

SPIRITUAL LEADERSHIP
is the ability to lead and integrate secular models with spiritual insight that emcompasses Biblical principles and methods.

While secular models and principles of leadership are vital and helpful, some spiritual leaders are not able to integrate them into spiritual. Thus, unconsciously misappropriating the knowledge and skill in the wrong context.

Scripturally based leadership models are essentially in the church context. It is modeled on Christ - centered servant-hood and Biblical principles of directing and influencing the ministry of the Kingdom.

Issues to consider !

  1. Servant leadership and servant-hood.
  2. Spiritual Leadership character e.g. humility, integrity, trustworthiness etc.
  3. Characteristic (traits) of spiritual leaders.
  4. How to discover spiritual gifts.
  5. Understanding the holistic mission of Christ.
  6. What is the Biblical authority?
  7. Any other relevant topics.

 

VISIONARY LEADERSHIP
is the ability to anticipate the future and know how to response pro-actively and appropriately to the impending situation. The leader has "foresight with insight based on hindsight."

He or she is able to identify trends, project them into the future and clearly defined sense of direction for the organization or church, a vision of a desire future. The Bible says "without a vision, the people perish" (Prov. 29:18).

Areas of discovery:

  1. Christian Leadership definition and leadership styles.
  2. The characteristic and function of a vision leader.
  3. Envisioning - the vision process, think through the vision, forming the vision, vision sharing, living the vision
  4. Biblical character of a visionary leader e.g. Nehemiah.
  5. Understanding trends and time in the context we live in.
  6. Any other relevant topics.

 

ORGANIZATIONAL LEADERSHIP
is the ability to lead and manage a church or an organisation.

A leader with adequate organisational knowledge is able to develop a system or process which enable the efficient implementation of the operation of the church or organisation.

The leader will be able to design an optimum organisational structure and systematic process; to define and develop the purpose of the church; and to align the right people in the right roles.

Organizational and structural issues!

  1. Biblical concept of management.
  2. Leading the church – Understanding structure, functions and governance.
  3. Stewardship of the church.
  4. Life cycle of a church.
  5. Systematic management of a church.
  6. Any other relevant topics.

 

RELATIONAL LEADERSHIP
is the ability of the leader to create an atmosphere within the church to promote positive working and human relationships that enhances greater cooperation and cohesivenss of the team.

The leader seeks to encourage and motivate others for collaborate action. The leader understands that people are the source of all progress and innovation, and thus the key to success in the ministry. He or she is able to help people develop and utilise more of their full potential.

Relationship concern!

  1. Building relationship for collaboration and partnership.
  2. Building and leading a strong team.
  3. Kingdom partnership synergy – clergy and laity.
  4. Managing conflicts.
  5. Any other relevant subjects.

 

STRATEGIC LEADERSHIP
is the ability to employ prophetic vision, biblical wisdom, and comprehensive understanding and insight to utilise spiritual, human, financial and all intangible resources in a high level of productivity.

A strategic leader is able to define and develop the most effective and appropriate cause of action, consider all existing opportunities, and endeavour to break new ground to accomplish its vision and mission.

Strategic issues!

  1. Strategic thinking and planning.
  2. Leveraging the resources and building coalition.
  3. Paradigm shift – its relevance and process.
  4. Renewing the task and entering into a new conquest.
  5. Any other relevant topics.

 

LETHAL LEADERSHIP
is the degenerated leadership attitude and behavior that stifle the credibility, ability and potentiality of a leader.

As leaders, it is inevitable that they will encounter various kinds of internal dynamic, many of which may demoralize our enthusiasm and effectiveness, and some may obviously wound our spirit and hurt our emotion. Along with ministry success, popularity and recognition, we may also be succumbed to sins and temptations that bring forth our downfall.

What are the lethal issues and realistic precaution that leaders should consider?

Consider the danger signs!

  1. Issues facing pastors and leaders.
  2. Burnout – symptom of decline.
  3. The danger signs – temptation and sins, the pitfalls of leaders.
  4. Toxic Leadership - causes and effects.
  5. How to restore a fallen leader?
  6. Any other relevant topics.

 

TRANSFORMATIONAL LEADERSHIP
is the ability to raise and empower the emerging young leaders to the next level of leadership by challenging them to be innovative beach-head pioneer, apostolic mover; and developing their leadership capacity via coaching, mentoring, and provision of both challenge and support.

The emphasis is on intrinsic motivation and positive development of leaders of leaders, through shared vision and goals.

What can we do to make the difference?

  1. Mentoring and coaching.
  2. Empowering and capacity building.
  3. How to finish well in ministry and life.
  4. Making the difference – Influencing.
  5. Leaving a legacy.
  6. Glory after flow – preparing a ministry after retirement

个人性的领导
是不论在什么情况下都可以领导和管理自己的生活。领导责任从自己开始。

属灵性的领导

因此,不自觉在错误方面侵占知识和技能。有根基的圣经教导的领导方式对教会是非常重要的。它以基督为榜样-在他的国度里,以仆人心态和圣经的原则为中心来教导和影响事工。

组织性的领导
是管理一所教堂或组织的领导能力。

一个有足够组织知识的领导者能够制定一个系统化进程,有效地执行和运作教会或机构。

领导人能够设计一个最佳的组织结构和系统过程; 确定发展的宗旨,组织和安排对的人选在对的岗位上。

关系性的领导
是能够在机构内建立一个融合的气氛,以促进积极的工作与人际关系,提高合作精神和凝聚力的团队。

领导人设法鼓励和激励同工的合作动力。领导人明白人力是所有进步和创新的来源,也是事工成功的关键原因。 他或她可以帮助他人开发、更加充分发挥和利用其潜力。

策略性的领导
是能够完善地应用先知性的预言远见,圣经智慧,和全面的了解和洞悉来运用灵命,人力,财力和无形资源以达到高水平的生产力。

策略领导者能够有效和适当发展最有影响力的行动原因,考虑到所有现有的机会,并努力争取新的突破,以实现其理想和使命。

  3. 管理组织的变化
  4. 革新任务,进入新的领域

毁灭性的领导
是堕落领导的态度,使得领导者的行为信誉,能力和潜力被遮盖(扼杀,抑制)。

作为领导人难免会遇到各种各样的内部动态,其中许多可能会瓦解我们的积极性和工作效率,更有一些可能会明显地伤害我们的精神和感情。随着事工的增长和成功,受欢迎的程度和认可,我们也可能会遭受罪恶或诱惑而使我们绊倒。
