Transforming leadership capacity to create significance in the Kingdom ministry

__________________________________________________________________________________________

 Preamble:

In February 2006, I turned 55. I wanted to retire and relinquish the responsibility of leadership to others. However, the Council of NECF requested me to consider staying on for another 10 years. I accepted the request but only partially, as I agreed to continue for another 5 years. The conviction is irrevocable. I strongly believe that leaders should multiply leaders. It is inappropriate for me to hold on to my position of leadership while depriving others of the opportunity to lead. The younger, emerging leaders will be able to make significant changes to the Church in Malaysia. They are the unmeasured human assets of the future.? I expressed believably this concern in my book "Living and Leading with Limitations" pages 130-133.

As I continue to partner with Haggai Institute (USA), Agape International Leadership Institute (USA), Eagles Communication (Singapore), Transform World Movement and my recent appointment as the Honorary Director of Transformation Leadership Development Commission of the Asian Evangelical Alliance, I am convinced that leadership development is vital for the growth of the Church. Further, the Church ministry is marked by major changes and crisis that will have significant implications to the Church in the next decade. These rapid forces of change will ultimately bring about many new trends and challenges in the future. These phenomena would inevitably change the context and the role of contemporary Christian leadership.

It is inevitable that we need to equip and train the present and future leaders to face and deal with many of these emerging issues and challenges of life and ministry in our society, Church and nations. Also under the tremendous pressure of economic crisis, political transition, religious resurgence, external influence and world-views, our evangelistic efforts and evangelical response can be very difficult and complex. The situation would require a complete re-orientation of thinking, approach and strategy of the visionary leaders of the Church today.

The LEADERSHIP TRANSFORMATION ACADEMY is established to TRANSFORM LEADERSHIP CAPACITY TO CREATE SIGNIFICANCE IN THE KINGDOM MINISTRY.

Currently, 240 pastors and leaders from 180 churches in Malaysia are under going this training. Another 160 from overseas.
